Below are the event links and details that may be of some interest to our Texas Dancers. Texas Line Dance Jamboree - January
Jan 23 (Sat) - 24 (Sun) -2027
Waco, Texas
Theme: Denim, Diamonds and Pearls
REGISTRATION AND HOTEL BLOCKS NOW OPEN!
A long-standing Texas line dance tradition. Dances selected are voted on by Texas dancers, and the event is led by Instructor volunteers! There is a split-floor for Main dances and Beginner splits. All dances will have quick walk-thrus. The event is a 1 1/2 day event - the first day being a review of Primary dances along with open dancing. Day 1 typically has a fun theme that dancers like to dress up for. Day 2 is the main event day - with all Primary and Favorite dances being done, along with some open dancing. Lunch on Day 2 is included in ticket price. This event has been going on for over 30 years.
*Highly recommended for Intermediate and Advanced Dancers. Improvers will find themselves fulfilled with doing some main dances and some splits. Beginners will mostly be led on the split-side of the floor with alternative dances. There are far more upper level dancers in attendance in recent years than beginners - but everyone hangs out and enjoys socializing. Often there are vendors selling merch and shoes on-site.

Line Star State Awards - February

A new event, in its 4th year, but first-time held in-person. It's a Texas line dance awards event. There will be dancing for the full 3 hours, followed by a dinner break, and then Neon Boots will be open for public open dancing after 5PM.
This is an event where the top dances for each level of line dancing are awarded (for Texas) each year. Voting for Dance of the Year will take place at the LIVE event.

Line Dance Extravaganza - February

REGISTRATION NOW OPEN
GUEST CHOREOGRAPHER - BRITT BERESIK!
This event has been around since 2019 and intended to be a Beginner-Improver focused event. Very little Intermediate and above dancing. Some years there is a guest choreographer that will lead a teach of a new dance. Otherwise the voted playlist of approx 30-40 dances will be led with walk-thrus by volunteer instructors. There are often vendors on-site. This is typically a 1 day event, but there is often a pre-party with open dancing the evening before. Lunch is included in registration for the main event.
*Highly recommended for new dancers - Beginners and Improvers - or experienced dancers who love easier, fun dances and a chance to socialize.

Four States Line Dance Festival - March

This event is known for bringing dancers together in the Four-Corners region. There is group participation - both with teaching and leading dances, as well as a Group Showcase.

Heart Of Texas - April

Theme: A Night At The Movies
REGISTRATION NOW OPEN!
This is a multi-day event, running from Thursday-Sunday, within a multi-ballroom space conference area within a hotel in the Dallas/FW area. All day you will take classes from famous line dance choreographers from all over the world. In the evening, you will watch demos of the next days' workshop schedule as well as enjoy hours and hours of open-dancing in 2-3 different rooms simultaneously (Main Ballroom, Beginner/All Request Room, Workshop Review/Bonus Room). On Saturday night, you can pay to enjoy an event sit-down dinner as well as a Saturday night show performed by the workshop teaching staff. There is a theme every year dancers enjoy dressing up for on Saturday night.
All levels encouraged to attend as there are workshops for Beginners, Improvers, Intermediates and Advanced. There are dance vendors on-site selling merch and dance shoes/apparel. A must-do event and only one like it in the state of Texas.
Get ready to stay up late because you'll want to make that "Survivor" photo at ~2AM.

ACDA Country, Swing and Line Event
A mixed medium event - with couples, line, and everything in-between. Huge competition component with a workshops sprinkled in throughout the day. You don't need to be a competitor to attend but it's very different from most other line dance events in the state. Line dance workshops given by pros who are often skilled in other dance areas - not specific to line dancing. Multi-day event at a hotel with dancing late into the evening (fair to say not as much line dancing as other events).

One day event much like the Jam, Yellow Rose, and Bluebonnet. There is a set-list of dances chosen before the event that you'd need to learn beforehand. There is a beginner split for every difficult dance. Dances are led by volunteers (with quick walk thrus). Popular with a lot of our emerging Improver and Intermediate dancers who have just started growing out of the "beginner" levels. Still plenty to enjoy for all-levels. Lunch included in registration. Often a fun theme to embrace at the event.

Neon Boots Line Dance Extravaganzas

Fun 1-day event at Neon Boots Dance Hall & Saloon. Hosted in Housotn by the Mavericks dance team and Neon Boots Instructors. (There is a counter-part event in Dallas/FW that rotates). Instructors from Houston and guest Instructors from DFW and even Austin will lead a walkthru of a list of 20 pre-selected dances of various levels. These dances are chosen by the panel of leading instructors. Crowded dance floor but super fun event that happens mulitple times a year.
